WonHundred Word Wednesday: Subway

A few of my author friends and I are starting “WonHundred Word Wednesdays.” Each week we will be given a prompt. We will write a 100 word story based on that prompt and post it.  Then we will link to the other blogs doing it. I am really excited to read all of the stories. Enjoy!

After riding on the train from Moscow to Samara for twenty-four hours, I was ready to get off! My back was sore from the hard bunk beds in my coupe and the bed sheets smelled musty and old. The curtains that hung over my window had a lovely pattern of flowers that reminded me of wallpaper in my grandmother’s bathroom.

As we arrived at the station in Samara, groups of people stood around waiting for their loved ones to get off. I kept scanning the crowd for a sign or a familiar face.

Finally I saw Ramone. He was smiling!

Check out the other great stories! And come back next Wednesday for the next prompt.

Oh I love this! (Is is autobiographical? – if I may ask)

Alison, it is. I served an LDS mission to Russia and this was my first area as I arrived. Ramone was there waiting for us. It was so good to see someone waiting for us.

    Great story 🙂
