WonHundred Word Wednesday: Heart Pounding

This weeks prompt is: My heart pounded wildly.

My heart pounded wildly as Derek walked into the cafeteria. There was something almost hypnotic about the way he walked. Even Sally, the geekiest girl at school, was in love with Derek Ashcroft.

What was it about these boys that trapped our hearts? Made us cling to their every word and action?

I decided I wanted to find out. I was on a quest to break Derek and make every girl at school jealous that he fell in love with me. Me—the last person on earth he thought would be coming his way.

Check out the other great stories! And come back each Wednesday for a new prompt.

Break him? Oh, I’m very curious now!

I remember guys like that in school who got anything they wanted and we all fell at their feet. She is out for revenge. Make him fall for her and then drop him.

Fun! Reminds me a bit of one of my favorite movies, John Tucker Must Die. 🙂

Ah. This looks like the beginning of something very interesting. Loved it!

  4. Jenna Eatough says:

Not a happy love. This sounds much more revenge oriented.

Haha I love it! Sometimes it’s fun to be the one to make them like you. 🙂

  6. I wonder if she succeeds, or if she ends up getting her heart trapped.

    • R.K. Grow says:

I hope she succeeds but usually it ends up trapping their hearts. This may be a fun short piece or a serial perhaps. I am really enjoying doing these prompts. It’s helping me with story ideas.

  7. I’ll be there–can’t wait!
