The Devil’s Name Was Fred was playing at the local Drive-in the night I met him. I couldn’t be sure if it was coincidence or not but fate had a way of bringing us together.
I bumped into him coming out of the powder room during intermission. I was so embarrassed because I’d knocked over his box of popcorn onto the tattered red carpet. One of the workers came by and helped us clean up. I made my apology and quickly went back to my seat.
When the movie ended I ran into him again— this time leaving with a kiss.
