Rachel has stage 4 breast cancer. She is faced with the decision to be a guinea pig for more testing or enjoy the time she has left with her family. What would you do if you had 6 months or less to live?
Letters For Ellie is a beautiful story about a mother who will never get the chance to see her baby daughter grow up. She’ll never see her get married or hold her grandchildren. Through written letters Rachel imparts her wisdom to Ellie about faith, love, friendship, God and more.
I came up with the idea during a writing exercise for my writing group about four years ago. It’s morphed a bit along the way and now it’s almost finished. I have five more chapters to write. It’s been very emotional too as I’ve thought of those things I would want my daughters to know. It’s also dedicated to my friends and family members who have had breast cancer and survived and for those who have passed away.
You can go to my Letters For Ellie page on this site for more information as it’s available. What are you currently working on?
