A-Z Blogging Challenge: W is for WIP..

letter-w-iconW is for WIP. Work in progress. I thought I would give you an update on how things are going with Letters For Ellie. Here is a description of my book. It’s also a work in progress on it’s own.

Rachel has stage 4 breast cancer. She is faced with the decision to be a guinea pig for more testing or enjoy the time she has left with her family. What would you do if you had 6 months or less to live?

Letters For Ellie is a beautiful story about a mother who will never get the chance to see her baby daughter grow up. She’ll never see her get married or hold her grandchildren. Through written letters Rachel imparts her wisdom to Ellie about faith, love, friendship, God and more.

I came up with the idea during a writing exercise for my writing group about four years ago. It’s morphed a bit along the way and now it’s almost finished. I have five more chapters to write. It’s been very emotional too as I’ve thought of those things I would want my daughters to know. It’s also dedicated to my friends and family members who have had breast cancer and survived and for those who have passed away.

You can go to my Letters For Ellie page on this site for more information as it’s available. What are you currently working on?

This sounds like an interesting book. Books about cancer always grab at my heart. I have yet to read one, but I’ve come across plenty of WIPs that sound so intriguing.

Have fun with the rest of a-z.

Thank you for stopping by Jessica. Are you a writer? It’s been a long month but I am so glad to see our a-z challenge at an end. I’ve learned a lot. I hope others will also like my book enough to publish it when it’s ready. 🙂

      have a great night!
