Thanksgiving Traditions

Tradition is defined as the transmission of customs or beliefs from generation to generation.

I come from a big Italian family on my dad’s side. As long as I can remember we have always had big gatherings for Thanksgiving. And tons of food. There was always a turkey, mashed potatoes and stuffing but on the other hand we had spaghetti and homemade meatballs and sauce. Now that is a lot of food but I always thought it was neat that we had Italian food as well. We also all hold hands around the table and take turns saying what we are thankful for. This is special to me. I don’t always get to spend this time of year with my mother but in the last five years I’ve been able to have Thanksgiving dinner with her. She lives in England and I miss her all the time. Love to all of my family right now who are near and far.

May each of you enjoy Thanksgiving with your family and loved ones this week. May you always remember to be grateful all year long and not just in November.
