Screen Shot 2016-04-01 at 8.06.50 AMIt seems fitting that I would come into this challenge to introduce myself on the word kill. My name is Rob Graves. My real name is Robin but after being made fun of my whole life as Robin Graves, I changed it to Rob when I turned 18. I am from Alaska originally. I currently live in Oregon and work construction and do some logging.

I’ll be taking you through to the end of the alphabet and then Skye will join me for x, y, and z.

You may think what I am about to say or suggest is silly but I want you to know it’s true. All of it. I’ve seen it. I’ve been there. I’ve done it.

For all of the Buffy enthusiasts out there reading this blog, there really is a correct way to kill a vampire and survive an attack by one.

Tools Needed:

Remember earlier when we talked about the first aid kit and what that would look like? For vampires you need the following: sharp wooden stakes, a sharp ax, crossbow, holy water vials, garlic, crosses, silver, gasoline, lighter, and sunlight.

3 Ways to Kill a Vampire:

  1. The best way to kill a vampire and the least messy is to bring them into the sunlight. Once the sun touches their skin they will turn to ash in a matter of seconds. Vampires also know this is their number one threat to survival and they will do whatever they can to not be around sunlight. Be smarter than they are and trick them somehow. Remember they are really fast and strong too. They are just not going to let you put them in harms way.
  2. The second best way to kill a vampire is with a sharp wooden stake. Now I’ve seen plenty of vampire movies and read books on them to know that the wood, if taken from a church, can burn them up as if they had been in the sunlight. But if you do not have access to a church then any piece of wood will do. Remember, their reflexes are pretty fast and they heal easily so you want to aim for their heart. And to make sure you have really killed them, drive a second stake through their head and then decapitate them. Finally, burn their body. This is a pretty messy step and if you are at all squeamish beware. This option is usually the one you’ll find yourself in most because you’ll be fighting them. A crossbow can also help when you load it with sharpened stakes. Especially if you are not very strong at close range.
  3. Another method that you don’t always hear too much about is using silver. Crosses, bullets, stakes, daggers, and nails are all used and very effective in killing vampires if they are silver. It’s not only werewolves that are targeted by it.

I hope that you were not laughing as you read my post today. Vampires lives amongst us.The scary part is that someday they’ll be able to walk during the day. How will we deal with them then? My first encounter with one was when I lived in Alaska and my friend and I were camping one summer. I’ll share my story with you sometime.

Have you used a method you’d like to share?

Interesting post. Most vampires seem to turn to ash when burned – and stay dead. So keeping fire handy (or someone who can conjure fire) seems a safe bet. I’m talking about vampires in fiction… Good luck with the rest of the AtoZchallenge.
